Ming Blue and White Porcelain Bowl.

c.1560-1600

A 16th Century Ming Porcelain Bowl c.1560-1600. Decorated with a fish-dragon in white on a pale grey-blue ground. The well of the bowl is painted with a double-gourd tied with a ribbon. The base with a poorly painted seal mark.

Condition
There is a long thin chip to the inside of the footrim c.12 mm x 3 mm, the rime is rather rough with fritting and glaze chips. It is likely this Ming bowl comes from a shipwreck or possibly burial.
