KANGXI 1662 – 1722 London Decorated Chinese Porcelain
A Kangxi `Cafe-au-Lait` Blue and White Porcelain Teabowl c.1700-1710 with Early English Decoration, Added in London c.1700-1710. The Decoration Consists of Original Chinese Blue and White Flowers to the Interior and Iron Brown Cafe-au-Lait to the Exterior. The English Over Decoration Comprises of Thick White and Green Enamels with Red Highlights. The Design is of Three Roundels, Two of Which Have Flowers and the Third a Bird Among Flowers.

Early London Decorated Porcelain c.1700 - 1710 :
This type of decoration is the earliest group of London decorated Chinese export porcelain known. This distinctive group, with its thick opaque enamel augmented with red and green occurs in the period of c.1700 to 1710. Six examples of English saltglaze stoneware are known with this type of decoration including an armorial tankard made in London and dated 1706. This is illustrated in `European Decoration On Oriental Porcelain 1700 - 1830` (Helen Espir, Jorge Welsh Books 2005). Pages 206 and 207.
