An 18th Century Japanese Porcelain Dish

An 18th Century Japanese Porcelain dish, Arita kilns c.1750-1770. The moulded organic form, possibly  representing overlapping leaves, has a divided design. The right-hand side is decorated with polychrome enamels and gilding with sea-creatures including clams among aquatic plants. The left-hand side is in the imari palette and represents brocaded fabric with chrysanthemum flowers.

In excellent condition, a minute frit to the footrim c.2mm. Very minor rubbing to the gilt decoration.

Provenance
An old label to the base (c.1930?) shows this Japanese porcelain dish was sold at Kunsthandel Borzo which was then run by J. van Rosmalen at Venversstraat 21, 'sHertogenbosch, the Netherlands.
