ARITA c.1690 – 1720 Japanese Porcelain

A Japanese Blue and White Dish of Overlapping Shikishi Form. Decorated to the Borders with Pine and Bamboo, a Diaper Design and a Peony Scroll Design. The Thickly Potted Dish has an Iron-oxide Dressing Referred to as Kuchibeni (literally meaning `lipstick`). The Back is Decorated with a Fruiting Branch, the Base with a Seal-Mark.
