An Japanese Kraak type porcelain plate, Arita, perhaps Hikeoba or Sarugawa kilns c.1670 – 1690. The center decorated with a persimmons growing from rocks. The cavetto decorated with six alternating panels showing stylised peonies, and rocks, bamboo and flowering prunus. The patterns showing a striking similarity to that used for V.O.C. orders produced at the Hikeoba and Sarugawa kilns, those plates have the initials V.O.C. to the center of the plate.
