TIANQI or CHONGZHEN c.1620 – 1640 Transitional Porcelain
A Ming Blue and White Porcelain Kaiseki Dish Made for the Japanese Market, Tianqi or Chongzhen Period c.1620-1640. This Transitional Porcelain Dish Shows a Strutting Cockerel Looking up at a Large Butterfly in a Landscape with a Banana Plant.
In good condition, the rim with mushikui fritting and small glaze chips. There are also some iron-oxide spots to the glaze.
