ARITA c.1740 – 1770 Japanese Porcelain

An 18th Century Japanese Blue and White Porcelain Plate, Arita Kilns c.1740-1770. The Thickly Potted Flower Shaped Plate is Painted with an Asymmetrical Panel Containing a Landscaped with a Promontory of Near Vertical Rocks with a Pine Tree, a Small Building and a Weeping Willow at the Waters Edge. The Scene is Set Against a Scrolling Peony Ground. The Base is marked with an Apocryphal Chenghua Mark (Ming Dynasty 1465-1487).
