References
As far as I am aware there are no published examples of saucers with legs, either in Japanese or Chinese porcelain. Among all the thousands of teabowls and saucers I have seen I can`t recall seeing this form either. Somewhat larger Japanese porcelain serving dishes with tripod feet are known. For a Kakiemon examples see stock number 23696. A blue and white porcelain tripod dish is illustrated in : Commemorative Exhibition of the Donation, Shibata Collection VI, Techniques and Decorative Methods Used in the Edo Period (The Kyushu Ceramic Museum 1998) page 53, plate 84. A Japanese porcelain dish of this form and design can be seen in our `Sold Items` number 23257.
