Information
This small late Ming porcelain vase was made for the domestic market at a kiln in Jingdezhen. Vases of this size and shape with similar decoration in blue and white are frequently found but carved examples are far less common. This type of rather deeply carved decoration can not really be classed as An Hua, as the carving is far less discreet than the lightly incised An Hua or secret decoration, however the decoration is subtle and is not visible from a distance.
