A 17th Century Japanese Blue and White Porcelain Dish, c.1670 – 1700.

A 17th century Japanese blue and white porcelain dish from the collection of Soame Jenyns, Deputy Keeper of Asian Antiquities, British Museum (1950-1968). The central roundel of this Arita from c.1670-1700 encloses a landscape of a pavilion, trees, rocks and water, two boats and mountains in the distance, surrounded by a broad border depicting mountains, huts and a willow tree. The base has five ‘stilt-marks’.
