A Late Ming Kraak Ware Porcelain Dish

Late Ming, Wanli to Chongzhen c.1610 - 1630

A Late Ming Kraakware Shaped Dish, Jingdezhen Kilns, Late Wanli to Chongzhen c.1610 – 1630. The center decorated with a bird on a rock next to a flowering peony. The cavetto of this thickly Kraak porcelain dish has panels of a large flowering plant interspersed with panels of auspicious objects. The base has chatter marks and grit adhering to the glaze. The grit was used to stop the piece sticking in the glaze firing.

In excellent, some concentric scratches to the base, a very minor firing crack to the edge.
