SEVRES c.1789 French Soft-Paste Porcelain
An 18th Century Sevres Porcelain Saucer. Painted and Gilded with Urns Issuing with Garlands of Garden Flowers and Laurel leaf Swags. The Base Marked with an Interlaced LL for the Sevres Factory and the Sevres Factory Date Code `LL` for 1789. The Painters Mark `P` with a Comma or Small Axe is that of Jean-Jacques Pierre. The Gilders Mark `HP` is for Henry-Martin Prevost Who Worked at Sevres from 1757-1797.

Information
Jean-Jacques Pierre, known as Pierre jeune was a flower painter who worked at Sevres from 1763 to 1800. Information from : Sevres Porcelain (Erikson and De Bellaigue, Faber and Faber, 1987). For another example of his work see our `Sold Items` number 21667.
