A Fine and Rare Japanese Porcelain Dish of Ai-Kutani type, Arita kilns c.1660-1670. This small circular dish has thick vertical sides and a high footrim, the bright white porcelain body has a clear glaze with a finely crackled surface. The design, composed in typical Japanese fashion is of an asymmetrical design, consisting of flowers and leaves with paper loosely wrapped around their stems. Made for the domestic market.

In perfect condition. The glaze is finely crazed, two small pieces of kiln grit to the glaze.
