An 18th Century Japanese Porcelain Plate
An 18th century Japanese porcelain plate, Arita kilns c.1760-1780. The center moulded in bas-relief with a Chinese garden scene with with two figures near a building. The scene has inscriptions in underglaze cobalt blue and details in the moulded border highlighted in the same colour. The mould used to produce this Arita dish appears to have been cracked, this shows as a line from top to bottom within the central motif. The base with a running ‘Fu’ mark.
