18th Century Japanese Porcelain with Yin Yang Design
c.1740 - 1760
An Unusual and Striking Mid-18th Century Japanese Blue and White Porcelain Dish, Arita Kilns c.1740-1760. The center is painted with a rare version of the Yin Yang symbol using concentric circles, this is within double lines. This is surrounded by highly stylised flowers which have been painted directly, rather than being total washes for line-drawing. The flowers are repeated on the reverse and the base has a running FuKu mark among four stilt-marks.
