18th Century Sevres Porcelain Beaker

An 18th Century Sevres Porcelain Beaker made in the year of the French Revolution. Finely painted in the Neo-Classical style with a band of pink roses interweaved with stylised accanthus scrolls, gilded blue bands as well as further gilding.The Base Marked with an Interlaced LL for the Sevres, LL for 1789 and the painter’s mark for Guillaume Noel who worked at Sevres from 1755-1804. Noel worked on the Maria Theresa services as well as the Bedford service from about 1776 he was also a gilder (source : Sevres Porcelain – Erikson and De Bellaigue, Faber and Faber, 1987).

In excellent condition, a very small loss to the gilding on the top rim. Some wear to the gliding line just above the foot.
