An 18th Century Sèvres Porcelain Coffee Can and Saucer c.1783. Decorated in a restrained style associated with the Neo-Classical style this Sèvres coffee can and saucer is decorated with small sprigs of blue flowers with yellow centers interspersed with gilded cornflowers and other flowers. The can has an incised workman’s mark and a blue enamel interlaced LL for Sèvres and ff for the year 1783, below is the painters ‘m:’ with back to back c. This artist is unidentified, but was working at Sèvres in around 1785 (Sèvres Porcelain,Erikson and De Bellaigue, Faber and Faber, 1987. Page 163, entry 96). The saucer has blue enamel interlaced LL for Sèvres.
