A Kakiemon Type Japanese Blue and White Dish

A Kakiemon Type Blue and White Porcelain Dish, Kakiemon or Arita Kilns, c.1680-1710. This thickly potted moulded blue and white porcelain dish has a barbed flat rim finished in iron-oxide called Fuchibeni. The sparse center has a single prunus motif. The moulded cavetto has ten stylised lotus motifs. The reverse with painted Karakusa scrolling foliage and five spur marks. There is a running Fuku mark to the center.
