A Kangxi Blue and White Porcelain Crucifixion Saucer

An Unusual Chine de Commande Kangxi Blue and White Crucifixion Saucer c.1690-1720. Painted with Christ on the Cross, a plaque above inscribed INRI (poorly written) with Mary and John the Baptist mourning below. The style of painting, using cross-hatching without washed tones, clearly indicates its European origin, the design has been taken from a copper-plate engraving. The base has a stylised mark, probably Shou.
