An Unusual Kangxi or Yongzheng Imari Plate
Kangxi or Yongzheng c.1715 - 1725
An Unusual Kangxi or Yongzheng Imari Plate c.1715 – 1725. The cavetto is incised beneath the glaze, this is known as An Hua in Chinese, meaning secret or hidden decoration. The central scene is of a well dressed elegant lady in a garden setting with bamboo, a garden seat and a flowering peony. The woman looks down at a boy who is playfully trying to catch one of the ribbons that flow down from her neck.
