ARITA c.1650 – 1660. Japanese Porcelain

A Rare Early Arita Porcelain Dish c.1650 – 1660. The Thickly Potted Moulded Dish has a Scalloped Edge with Raised Ridges at an Angle Giving the Impression of Overlapping Petals. The Central Scene Depicts Large Bird Seated on a Flowering Chrysanthemum Branch. The Rim on the Reverse is Painted with Scrolling Leaves and the Base with an Apocryphal Ming Chenghua Mark.
