Rare Transitional Blue and White Porcelain Bowl c.1640.

A rare Transitional porcelain bowl or cup, Chongzhen c.1640. The thickly potted elliptic form vessel has an unglazed base and the rim is also unglazed. The decoration, using high quality vivid tones of cobalt oxide is of birds flying among bamboo.
