CHONGZHEN 1628 – 1644 Transitional Porcelain
A Transitional Blue and White Porcelain Jar, Late Ming, Chongzhen Period c.1640. Painted in Rich Tones of Cobalt Blue in the `High Transitional` Style Using `V` Shaped Grass. The Composition is of Flower Vases, Variously Filled with Prunus and other Flowers in a Garden Setting with Scholar`s Rocks. The Central Register is Framed by Two Ah Hua Incised Borders.

- Good, the cover is missing. A very shallow double chip to the exterior of the rim which is partly a glaze chip ; 9 x 7mm at the widest just into the body, including the shallow loss just mentioned but with the loss to the glaze the area is a total of c12 x 11mm. See photograph of this arae.
