A Kangxi Copper Red Porcelain Vase 1662 – 1722
A small Kangxi Porcelain vase painted with mythical creatures in copper-red. This thickly potted Kangxi (1662-1722) porcelain vase is one of the smallest of this type, some of these copper-red vases are over 40 cm high. Like nearly all copper-red decorated porcelain the colour is slightly uneven with tiny specks of green. Even contemporary potters using modern techniques struggle with this temperamental pigment.

Small Kangxi Copper-Red Bottle with Buddhist Lions, Over Decorated in Holland in a Chinoiserie Style with Two Oriental Figures Greeting Each other on a Bridge that Stretches from an Imaginary Oriental Landscape with Buildings to the Back of one of the Buddhist Lions. The Decoration was Added in the 1720`s.
