KANGXI 1662 – 1722 Chinese Export Porcelain
An Unusual Chinese Export Porcelain Tea Cannister and Cover, Kangxi Period c.1700. Based on a European Silver Shape, this Rectangular Kangxi Blue and White Porcelain Tea Cannister is Decorated in the Chinese Style. One Side is Painted with a Scene Set by the Waters Edge a Rustic Building Nestles Against the Rocks, with a Figure Looking Out Over a Wintery Scene with a Jagged Mountain Range in the Distance, Another Figure is in the Building. The Reverse Decorated with Peony Growing from a Rocky Outcrop. The Sides Decorated with Flowers.

- Very good, the canister with small frits. The cover with a small chip to the outer lower edge restored, it is approximately 5 x 5mm. I can not measure it accurately as it has a restoration which has been 'sprayed'.
