MUROMANCHI DATED 1572 Japanese Stoneware
A Rare Inscribed and Dated 16th Century Japanese Bizen Stoneware Tane Tsubo (Jar for Storing Seeds). The Inscription Gives the Date 1572 of During the Muromachi Period (1337 to 1573). This Roughly Thrown Bizan Jar is Made from a Coarse Clay and is Partially Ash Glazed. The Shoulder has Lug Type Handles, the Cover is Modern (Japanese Lacquered wood).

- No damage but with some firing faults. The interior appears to be lacquered at a later period (modern). With a modern black lacquered fitted cover and a modern storage box and cover.
