Rare Qianlong Blue and White Porcelain Teapot

Qianlong c.1750

A Rare Qianlong (1736-1795) Blue and White Porcelain Teapot c.1750. This very small Chinese export porcelain teapot is unusual in several ways, it’s not really what one consider a miniature but its not full size either. The reeded spout is an unusual feature in itself but it is also rather large for the size of teapot. The decoration is of a garden with a scholar’s rock, a banana plant and other flowers with a balustraded with more flowering plants. The cover has a simplified version of this design.
