An Imperial Yongzheng Blue and White Porcelain Dish, Decorated with Scrolling Lotus and Five Lotus Flowers to the Center. The Base with a Yongzheng Six Character Mark and of the Period (1723-1735).

- Damaged and old repairs ; a long chip to the front of the rim filled c.17 x 5 mm, another c.8 x 4 mm, a small chip c.4 x 2 mm with a short associated crack. Another very fine crack c.21 mm and a third very fine crack c.13 mm.

Lotus :
The lotus is one of the most important symbols in the Chinese art. This Buddhist emblem is a symbol of purity, as the perfect flower grows out of muddy ponds without a stain. The words for lotus in Chinese has the same meaning as to bind, connect (in marriage). It is one of the Eight Auspicious Symbols of Buddhism. It is the flower used to represent summer.
